The US team headed to the World SC Champs in Hong Kong has been given a big boost with the addition of veteran swimmers Jenny Thompson & Kurt Grote.
Both were supposed to swim at next weeks US Nationals but received special dispensation to join the team headed to Hong Kong instead. The original US team of 14 headed to the World Short Course Champs was comprised of younger swimmers with little if any international experience.
In January FINA announced prize money of $15,000.00 US for a World Record at the Championships. The US team is comprised of:
