Hickman Qualifies - Loader Reconsiders 200 Fly

James Hickman qualified for the upcoming World Swimming Championships in Perth in a controversial 200 butterfly race in Britain. Hickman's time of 1:58.33 was enough to qualify for the British Team.

A starting block in lane 3 dislodged during the start of the race and officials decided that the event should be reswum this Sunday. However they did agree to allow Hickman's time to stand ensuring his selection to the team going to Perth.

In New Zealand, Danyon Loader, silver medallist in the 200 butterfly at the 1992 Olympics and most recently specializing in the 200 and 400 freestyle, is reconsidering competing in the 200 butterlfy in Perth due to the absence of world record holder Denis Pankratov.
