Pan Am Games - Day 4

We have last nights results from the swimming at the Pan Am Games in Winnipeg. They can be found in our meet results area.

Morgan Knabe won the 200 breaststroke with a 2:14.73, a Pan Am Games record. Steven West and Mark Gangloff of the US were second and third with times of 2:16.26 and 2:16.60.

In the mens 400 freestyle Luiz Lima of Brazil won the event with a time of 3:52.25. Austin Ramirez of the US was second in 3:53.64. Rick Say of Canada was third in 3:54.66 while Mark Johnston was fourth with a time of 3:56.68.

In the mens 4x100 free relay Brazil won the event in 3:17.18, almost a 2 second lead over the second place American team which finished in 3:19.00. Venezuela narrowly edged out Canada to take the bronze medal with a time of 3:22.21.

The womens 100 breaststroke was won by Staciana Stitts of the US with a time of 1:09.16. Her teammate Kristen Woodring was second in 1:09.65. Lauren van Oosten of Canada had to settle for a bronze medal in the event with her time of 1:10.06.

Karen Campbell of the US won the womens 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.05. Canada faired a bit better in this event with Canadians Jessica Deglau and Karine Chevrier picking up second and third in the event with times of 1:00.70 and 1:01.15 respectively.
