Long Beach Bids for 2003 World Championships

The city of Long Beach, California has tossed its hat into the ring, with its bid to host the 2003 FINA Long Course World Championships. Barcelona, Spain and Montreal, Canada had previously applied making it 3 cities that are now vying for the opportunity to host the event.

FINA will announce its decision on which city will host the event on March 30 in Hong Kong, before the World Short Course Championships begin there.

Fukuoka, Japan won the bid to host the 2001 FINA World Long Course Championships.
