Sanja Jovanovic of Croatia took the 50m backstroke title at the world short-course championships in Manchester in a world record of 26.37. The silver went to Gao Chang of China in 26.70, with bronze going to Kateryna Zubkov (UKR) in 26.81. The global mark had stood to the Croatian at 26.50 since yesterday.
