France broke the European 4x100 men's free relay record in 3:12.54, just off the world record of 3:12.46 by the USA

France broke the European 4x100 men's free relay record in 3:12.54, just off the world record of 3:12.46 by the USA.

The performance came at the end of Open EDF de Natation in Paris this morning. The team was composed of Amaury Leveaux 48.81 in the lead-off, Fabien Gilot 48.05, Frederick Bousquet 48.41, and swimming anchor Alain Bernard in 47.27. The old European record was 3:14.04 by Italy in 2007.

Laszlo Cseh (HUN) bettered his own 400 individual medley record last Saturday (14 June) in 4:07.96, at the Arena Meet in Canet. He bettered his previous record of 4:09.59 at the European Championships last March in Eindhoven.

Cseh's splits: 57.65, 2:00.27, 3:10.82, 4:07.96 in Canet, 56.59, 1:58.76. 3:10.72, 4:09.59 last March.
