Kate Ziegler (The Fish, Great Falls, Va.), coached by Ray Benecki, continued her record-breaking ways at the Toyota Minnesota Grand Prix on Saturday, setting a Minnesota pool record in 4:35.00 over 500 yards short-course.

'I didn't know I was going to break the record. It's very exciting and I was pleased with my swim. We've been training really hard,' said Ziegler, who kept at bay Flavia Rigamonti, the US-based Swiss rival who took silver behind her over 1,500m freestyle at the world championships in Melbourne last March. Rigamonti clocked 4:41.61, with Lakeside's Rachel Komisarz (Louisville, Ky.) third in 4:43.25.
