Laszlo Cseh (HUN) claimed the European 400m medley title by by shaving 0.04sec off his own continental standard for a 4:09.59 victory.

That effort completed a golden double of medleys for the Hungarian. Ioannis Drymonakos (GRE) was second in 4:14.72 and Luca Marin (ITA) took the bronze.
