Medley specialist clocks 2:08.95 and Alain Bernard races to a 46.44 100m freestyle record at French s/c nationals; Manaudou replaces Marin with Stasiulis in the heart-felt semis

More records fell as the French national s/c championships came to a close in Nimes, Camille Muffat's 2:08.95 taking down the 2:09.20 national standard set by Laure Manaudou over 200m medley last year, and Alain Bernard racing to a 46.44 100m freestyle victory that took him 0.35sec inside his previous best, set earlier this year.

Benjamin Stasiulis broke the men's 50m backstroke standard twice, with a 24.56 heats swim and 24.33 in the final. Among other standout swims, Alena Popchanka's 4:00.80 over 400m freestyle.

Stasiulis, meantime is in the spotlight - not as the latest breakout backstroke specialist with four national marks to his name in Nice, but as ... wait for it ... Manaudou's new boyfriend, accordint to French headlines.

Yes, that's right. Luca is yesterday's man. Never mind Signor Marin- plenty more fish in the pond, as Laure might say.
