World record holder aiming to get even more lethal in the solitary waters she wades in a couple of metres and more ahead of the pack

Watch out - Lethal Leisel is on the warpath and aiming to get even more lethal in the solitary waters she wades in a couple of metres and more ahead of the pack.

For the record, the Australian's world records stand at 1:05.09 and 2:20.54. Second all-time are 1:06.20 and 2:22.44.

The pressure at the dam wall has been building but Jones tells Tom Wald at AAP that she's ready to swim away again. 'I think any times are possible inside of you if you still have the passion to achieve them and I definitely do. It is not something that I dream about every day or have written on my wall that I have to get it but I know that I am still passionate about what I do and passionate about swimming faster. So every day I get in the gym and lift more weights to make me faster. I think I am quite capable of getting there.'

Jones races this week in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke and 200m individual medley at the NSW Open in Sydney.

'I think I have shown plenty of times that I am still swimming faster than I ever was mid-season back in Brisbane [before her move south away from the mentor who turned her around, Stephan Widmer]. I know all I have to do is to prove it to myself and I know in my heart that it was the right reason, so whether anyone questions it, I don't really care.'

The first sub 1:05 and 2:20 swims are flowing towards us.
